The crying master

Weeping monk“A famous Zen Master’s favorite student had died.  At the funeral service, the master was weeping copiously. His attendant was perturbed and asked, “You are a great Zen master, you are supposed to be free from attachment.  Why are you crying?”   The master replied, “If I don’t cry now, when will I cry?”
